I'm very sure I'm one of the last people on the planet to discover this, but I recently came across some of what people call wizard rock. This is rock music by bands who write songs from the point of view of assorted characters in the Harry Potter books. I'd say it's a bit similar to filk, which has been around for years, but it's rock and not folk and is specifically Potter-based. Only bands I've heard so far are Harry and the Potters and Draco and the Malfoys. It's fun stuff if you like that sort of thing. So, anyone else into this?

Actually, I think you and I were the last to know about this. lol
I came across a podcast last month that was just started to introduce people to different wrock bands. The website to go and download the first episode is
hpwr2.mypodcast.com
And there's a website called the wizrocklopedia which, among other things, has a list of wrock bands and links to their myspace pages where you can here some of their songs. That's
www.wizrocklopedia.com
Oliver boyd and the rememberalls and swish and flick are two of my favorites.

I found out about wizard rock from a friend 2 years ago at college, and I actually went to see Harry and the Potters at the Middle East in Boston. It's a cool idea, a novelty. They're not fantastic musicians, but the kids who go to see them love them, and it's a nice way to express how they feel about the series.
